Two months ago, the Indiana Kids Election (IKE) program launched with a mission: to help students understand the role and importance of voting in our democracy and build the habit of voting into adulthood in a nonpartisan way. IKE is a comprehensive way to teach students about voting by participating in a mock election process.
As part of the 2024 launch, students learned about the candidates running for four significant offices: President and Vice President, Indiana U.S. Senate, Governor, and Attorney General. IKE provided students with information by linking to candidate pages, allowing them to understand who they are voting for and their policies. Students have cast their votes, and here is how they voted:
