Celebrating 75 Years

President’s Circle

  • “We the People is the reason I became a social studies teacher. The course, supplemented by required
involvement in the academic team, uncovered my zest for researching, writing, and communicating. It revealed the merits of learning communities and self-efficacy. Today, the We the People experience defines me as a teacher as I now coach my own team and apply the program precepts throughout my teaching. This program offers invaluable learning experiences through competition and student-driven learning, propelling participants to exponential growth.”

    Gina Iacobucci

New Palestine High School, New Palestine

  • “Pro Bono Indiana (PBI) is a creation of the work of the Indiana Bar Foundation. The state’s pro bono system was at one time exclusively funded through IOLTA support managed by the Foundation. For the past six years, PBI has worked in partnership with the Foundation to expand the funds available for civil legal services for its own services and those of our many partner providers across the state. One of the highlights of the Foundation’s support that is unique to PBI is their operation of the Indiana Free Legal Answers platform, which the Foundation transitioned to PBI in 2019.”

    Scott Wylie

    Executive Director, Pro Bono Indiana

  • “The Indiana Bar Foundation supports Indiana Legal Services (ILS) by distributing Civil Legal Aid Fund money and with a grant from the Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program amounting to more than $1.2 million in 2024. This funding is general operating support, which is invaluable because it allows them to spend the money where it’s most needed. This money supports many ILS lawyers statewide who assist families and individuals who are facing eviction.”
