2025 Indiana Civil Legal Assistance Conference

 

The Indiana Bar Foundation and Coalition for Court Access invite you to attend the annual Indiana Civil Legal Assistance Conference on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Ivy Tech Conference Center in Indianapolis from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm ET, with a reception to immediately follow.

The conference will offer up to 5 CLE credits and will include sessions over a variety of topics of importance to the civil legal aid community. This conference is intended for civil legal assistance providers, pro bono lawyers, paralegals, law students and academics, members of the judiciary, and other professionals who assist in the delivery of civil legal assistance to low and modest-means Hoosiers.

You’re Also Invited to our Free Pre-Conference Sessions

The Civil Legal Assistance Conference will include two FREE Pre-Conference sessions focused on fundraising and development taught by Not-for-profit Professional, Charmaine Torma! You do not have to register for the Civil Legal Assistance Conference to attend these free sessions. These sessions are for leadership and development staff, board members, and other staff involved in fundraising and development. Pre-Sessions will take place via Zoom. Session 1: Cultivating a Culture of Philanthropy in your Organization – Thursday, October 9, 12-1 pm ET

Developing a philanthropic culture is not difficult, but it does take time and work. Building and maintaining relationships is quite rewarding and is much easier than “raising funds” from individuals who do not believe in your mission. Attend this session to understand the major players in cultivating a philanthropic culture and learn easy-to implement strategies to increase donations to your organization.

Session 2: Create an Easy to Implement Development Plan – Thursday, October 23, 12-1 pm ET

The ideal development plan is well-articulated and includes messaging, strategy, timeline, and goals. Attend this session to hear about practical experience applying this knowledge to create a development plan for a legal aid organization. Attendees will leave being able to create an easy-to-implement development plan for organizations of all sizes and budgets.
